Two members of the Ball State University track and field team received academic honors Monday.
Juniors Ali Bishel and Sarah Kehe were named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference outdoor track and field team.
To be eligible for this team, a player most have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and participated in at least 50 percent of team's events during the season.
Bishel, a landscape architecture major, finished with 3.67 GPA.
This is the second conference team Bishel was named to this season. She was also a second team All-MAC member after finishing in second place in the 10,000-meter run at the conference championships in May. She has also been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Second Team.
Kehe, an exercise science major, had a 3.89 GPA. In addition to this academic award, she finished the MAC Championships in 11th place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
Ball State had two of the 39 members selected to the academic team. The University of Akron had a conference-high seven members named to the team.
