A senior member of the Ball State University men's golf team finished tenth in his first professional golf tournament on Sunday.
Brian Maurer from Richmond, Ind., competed in the ADI Classic at the Cherry Blossom Golf Club in Georgetown, Ky. He entered the last round of the competition in 13th place and was able to move up three spots with a 12-under par score.
He earned more than $3,500 in prize money at the event.
During his senior year at Ball State, Maurer had the team's lowest average, was named First Team All-Mid-American Conference and received the Travis J. Smith Most Valuable Player Award.
He was also the team's co-MVP his junior year and was named Most Improved Player as a sophomore.
