A Ball State University student is a semifinalist for the Miss Ohio Scholarship Program title.
Ellen Bryan, a junior telecommunications major, was named one of 10 semifinalists for the title tonight in Mansfield, Ohio.
Winning the Miss Lake Festival earlier this year, Bryan is a vocalist talent. Her platform is "When Thunder Roars, Go Indoors" to promote lighting awareness.
The Miss Ohio competition had its preliminary events for the last three days. The 10 semifinalists had the highest scores in the preliminaries and will now participate in the finals with the winner being later tonight.
Bryan was one of two Ball State students participating in the 25-person competition. Kristy Moneysmith, 19, did not advance beyond the preliminaries.
