Studebaker East Complex and Studebaker West Complex are putting together the seventh annual StuStock from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday behind Stu West.
Activities will include a battle of the bands contest, a raffle and a cookout. In order to enter the raffle, Studebaker residents have to use their Studebucks, a form of fake money residents can earn in the halls.
Six bands will be performing at the event, including Save Our Syndicate, a veteran band, at StuStock.
Save Our Syndicate band member Ian Shannon said there will be music that appeals to everyone.
"This year we've got all sorts of music, ranging from dark alternative to happy hardcore or some classic rock to some mellow college bar scene music," he said.
The sponsors of this year's battle are WCRD and Muncie Music, who have helped with advertising and band prizes.
Jenn Goddard, Stu East residence hall director, said about 400 people attend StuStock per year.
"We hope to get a better turnout this year because we have better advertising with an ad in the paper and a table tent in the Atrium," she said. "We've also got timing on our side, since StuStock is right before Finals Week and gives students a last chance to relax and have some fun."
This year's theme will be '90s Nickelodeon, she said.
If it gets rained out, StuStock will be held in Park Hall's Multipurpose Room.
