The Village will be losing a source of revenue next week when Konale'a, a clothing, hair and skincare boutique, relocates.
Konale'a, which features an Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) treatment center, has been located at 1622 W. University Ave. for about two years.
The business will be moving about two miles west of its current location to Woodway Internal Medicine on 4000 W. Woodway Drive.
Store manager Erin Jennings said the move is meant to improve accessibility issues. She said customer parking in the Village has been a topic of concern for the business.
"We need to be more accessible to our clients because our clients range from ages 18 to 70 for our treatments, so not everyone's familiar with the Village," Jennings said.
The move will also help boost clientele for hair and skin treatment, though the boutique was quite popular in the Village, Jennings said.
"The demand for the skin and hair treatment is greater outside of the Village than it is inside," she said.
Konale'a is owned by Dr. Robert Suer, M.D. Suer's main office is located at Woodway Internal Medicine. Jennings said this affects the cost of running the treatment center, but that it isn't an issue with the move.
Konale'a will continue to offer its IPL skin and hair treatment at the new location. The move is scheduled for Monday.
