Four members of the Ball State University baseball team received all-conference honors Tuesday.
Outfielder Jeremy Hazlebaker, catcher Zach Dygert and pitcher/third baseman Kobrin Vitek were named to the All-Mid-American Conference First Team and first baseman Ian Nielsen was selected to the All-MAC Second Team.
Hazlebaker lead the conference with a .426 batting average and was fifth in the MAC with .718 slugging percentage. The leadoff hitter also set the school's single-season record with 73 runs scored.
In his third season as Ball State's starting catcher, Dygert had a career-high .344 batting average. He was one of four Cardinals to hit for more than .300 during the regular season.
Vitek had a conference-best 24 doubles and was fourth in the MAC with a .394 batting average. The sophomore also had a team-high 51 strikeouts and a 5.96 ERA in 11 pitching appearances.
As a freshman, Nielsen started every game for the Cardinals and had .354 batting average.
After winning the MAC West Division title in the regular season, Ball State will play Eastern Michigan University in the first round of the MAC Tournament at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Chillicothe, Ohio.
