More than 50 Ball State University faculty members were promoted or tenured for the upcoming school year.
Ball State announced Wednesday that the Board of Trustees promoted nine associate professors to professors and 24 assistant professors to associate professors. It also gave 26 faculty members tenure positions.
Twenty-eight departments had at least one faculty member receive a promotion, and 13 departments had multiple people receive promotions.
The Department of English had five faculty members receive promotions or tenure - the most of any department at Ball State - including three people who were given tenure. In addition, the Department of History and the Department of Mathematical Sciences each had four faculty members get promotions or tenure.
