WOMEN'S GOLF: Cardinals finish first day of Indiana Invitational in 11th place out of 15 teams

The Ball State University women's golf team finds itself in 11th place in a 15-team field today after the first two rounds of play of the Indiana Invitational in Columbus.

Ball State is at 75-over par, 25 strokes behind leader UNLV - who shot a tournament team best of 309 in the second of two rounds played on Monday.

Sophomore Rachael Pruett leads the Cardinals individually with a two-round score of 157, 79-78, and is in a tie for 13th place individually. Fellow Sophomore Brittany Kelly was in third place after round one, but fell to a tie for 27th after the completion of the second round (76-85=161).

Junior Kirsty O'Connor shot a 166 while senior Sarah Windlan and freshman Kristtini Cain both shot a 167. Paige Esford rounded out the team with a 173.

Ball State is five strokes behind the 10th place Illinois State University Redbirds. The 12th place Western Michigan University Broncos stand at 98-over par, 23 strokes behind Ball State.
