Ball State University women's basketball player Danielle Gratton added another award to her résumé Monday as she was named to the 2008-09 Academic All-Mid-American Conference Women's Basketball Team.
Gratton led Ball State with seven rebounds per game in addition to her 11.7 points per game in her first season with the team after transferring from the University of Illinois. The communications major has a 3.91 grade point average on Ball State's 4.0 scale.
The forward was named to the All-MAC Third Team and was the lone MAC player to be named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District V Team. She also won a MAC Player of the Week once.
To qualify for the academic team, athletes must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for their sport.
