Ball State University track and field team member junior Katie Johnson racked up eight of the 30 points for the Cardinals at the Lenny Lyles/Clark Wood Invitational.

The team finished third in the Friday and Saturday meet at Louisville, Ky.

In other relays, a combination of sophomore Thekla Lorenz, junior Jenna Schmitmeyer, Taylor and Stephens placed third in the 4x400 at 3:25.84.

Taylor ran a 25.81 in the 200-meter race to give the Cardinals another second place for the invitational.

The 1,500-meter competition was represented by a duo of junior Cardinals, who both finished in the top three. Ali Bishel finished second with a 4:38.10 while Brittany Ade finished with a 4:44.21 for third place.

The Ball State track and field team will challenge its skills next weekend when the team divides in half to compete in two different meets.
