TENNIS: Men's team loses control of MAC; women's team remains winless in MAC

Ball State University's men's tennis team lost a 5-2 match Saturday that took more than four and a half hours against Western Michigan University.

Five of the six singles matches went into three sets with two of those five determined by tie breakers. Senior Jorge Rodriguez and freshman Andres Monroy scored the only points for Ball State.

The loss means Ball State needs Western Michigan to lose its final conference match against the University of Toledo for Ball State to win a share of the Mid-American Conference title.

The women's tennis team was also in action on Saturday and dropped a 4-3 match to Eastern Michigan University. It was the fifth 4-3 loss on the season for the team.
