Students only need $15 and an empty stomach tonight for the 23rd annual Taste of Muncie.
The fundraising event for Cornerstone Center for the Arts will have eateries from all over Muncie attend to offer sample appetizers, entrées, salads and desserts.
This year's event will include 23 vendors, live entertainment and prizes given out by other organizations that will participate in the event, Cornerstone President Terry Bailey said.
"I think people believe that when you live in a small town there really aren't a lot of options," she said. "But Muncie is a sweetsurprise."
Bailey said funds from the event are used for operating and program support. She said the money will help accommodate the growing numbers of students who take classes at the center and maintain the building.
"People may not realize that just in this semester alone that started in January we had over 560 students in our classes," she said. "And 20 percent of those students have a scholarship."
Bailey said around 600 people attended last year's event. She said they expect more attendees at this year's event, which begins at 4 p.m.
"I think people will be surprised, especially those who have never been to Taste of Muncie before," she said. "Those who have been there, they know what to expect and they bring their appetites with them."
