Despite a pair of home runs, the Ball State University softball team lost 7-5 to Morehead State University in the first game of a doubleheader on Tuesday in Kentucky.
Outfielder Jen Moore and third basemen Kate Wilczynski both homered for the Cardinals in the loss.
Laura Masch, who got the start for Ball State on the mound, struck out five and allowed three runs in 4.1 innings of work. Elizabeth Milian, who pitched in relief of Masch, allowed four runs and had no strikeouts in 1.2 innings of work.
The doubleheader will continue at approximately 7:15 p.m.
