For the first time in her career, Ball State University designated player Amanda Montalto was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week today.
Montalto had a .700 batting average and 1.400 slugging percentage this past weekend as she went 7-for-10 in four games. She recorder two home runs, a double and seven RBI as the Cardinals won three games and improved their MAC record to 13-2 on the season.
Her second home run Saturday, the second in her career, drove in three runs and was the game-winning hit as Ball State beat Western Michigan in five innings. She went 4-for-5 against the Broncos and had a 2.000 slugging percentage in two games.
It was the third consecutive week Ball State won a MAC award.
