The last few weeks of the semester lend themselves to all-nighters, cram sessions and sleep deprivation. While students are here to learn and succeed in the classroom, take some time out of your day to regain some sanity by attending and participating in some of the events going on across campus.
TodayRed Revolution, an all-ages cornucopia of music stylings, will begin at 7 p.m. in Pruis Hall. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and tickets cost $2 or $3.
Thursday 4-16The Lovell Sisters perform their acoustic country, folk music at 7:30 p.m. at Pruis Hall. Tickets for Ball State University students cost $5.
Friday 4-17The men's volleyball team goes up against defending NCAA Champions Penn State at 7:30 p.m. in Worthen Arena. Students can attend for free.
Saturday 4-18Springfest 2009 at the Water Bowl in Muncie puts the musical stylings of ekoostik hookah, 8 Stories High and many more bands at the same location. Tickets cost $15, shows will be on two stages and there will be a yard-art sale and vendors.
Sunday 4-19Take a break from all things Ball State and venture out to A Taste of Muncie from 4 to 6 p.m. at Cornerstone Center for the Arts. Students with I.D. can attend for $15. Sample food from Vera Mae's Bistro, Bird's Smokehouse BBQ, Dairy Dream, Wilson Wines and more.
Tuesday 4-21Support your peers by attending the student jazz combos that will perform at 5:30 p.m. in the Music Instruction Building.
Wednesday 4-22Meet and listen to Story Musgrave, who at 61 was the oldest person to have been in space, talk about preserving the Earth and its resources. The event is at 7 p.m. in John R. Emens Auditorium and is free to students.
Thursday 4-23Check out "The Full Monty" at 7:30 p.m. in University Theatre. Tickets for students are $9.50.
Friday 4-24Come one, come all to the annual Late Nite Carnival in the North Commuter lot. The carnival will feature 15 rides, 10 games, free sno cones, free cotton candy and much more. The carnival begins at 8:30 p.m., lasts until 1 a.m. and is free to students.
Saturday 4-25Experience and learn about Christy Woods on a guided spring wildflower walk. The tour begins at 1 p.m. at the Orchid Greenhouse near the south gate and lasts about 50 minutes. The walk is free to the public. This tour is only offered one more time this year.
Tuesday 4-28Austin Lugar will provide insight into Alfred Hitchcock at Caffeinated Conversations. The event begins at 10 a.m. at the E.B. and Bertha C. Ball Center and is free but reservations are required. Contact nlindley@bsu.edu if you'd like to attend.
Wednesday 4-29"Jesus Christ Superstar" performs at 7:30 p.m. in Emens Auditorium. Tickets for students are free in advance.
Thursday 4-30The Lowe Family will perform Broadway, Irish, jazz and dance music at 7:30 p.m. in Emens Auditorium. Tickets cost $5 for students.
Friday 5-1Celebrate the last day of class but don't forget to go to your finals next week.
