Four more votes was the only difference for the Ball State University men's volleyball team in this week's top 15 coaches poll.
For the second consecutive week, Ball State stayed tied with Loyola University at No. 15 in the newest poll released on Monday afternoon.
"I'm surprised," coach Joel Walton said. "It is unusual to be tied one week, and then be tied with that one team for two weeks."
Both Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association teams received 22 votes - a four-vote increase from last week - after winning their conference matches during the weekend. Ball State (15-8, 6-4 MIVA) defeated IPFW in five games Saturday, and Loyola (14-9, 3-5 MIVA) beat last-place Quincy University twice.
In addition to Ball State and Loyola staying at the same ranking, 11 of the 16 teams in the poll kept the same ranking.
Walton, a voting member of the coaches poll, said he was not surprised there was minimum movement in this week's poll.
"There is not going to be much change because you have the same poll voters and there weren't any really significant upsets," he said.
