The video and technology coordinator for the Ball State University football team was named the Mid-American Conference Video Coordinator of the Year today by the Collegiate Sports Video Association.
D.J. Welte, the Cardinals' video and technology coordinator, is now a candidate for the Bob Matey National Video Coordinator of the Year. The national honor also will be voted on by the CSVA and presented at its banquet on May 14 in Jacksonville, Fla.
Welte, who is a 2005 graduate of Arkansas State University, joined Ball State for the 2007 season. He was the video coordinator at Louisiana Tech University in 2006 and the video coordinator at Arkansas State University in 2005.
Ball State finished the regular season 12-0 this past season and advanced it is second consecutive bowl game for the first time in its 84-year program history.
