The Jacksonville Jaguars selected the first Mid-American Conference player of the 2009 NFL Draft's second day.
With the eighth pick of the third round, which was pick 72 overall, the Jaguars selected Temple University defensive tackle Terrance Knighton.
The former Owl earned First Team All-MAC honors this past season. He had 54 tackles and 7.5 tackles for a loss on the season.
Knighton was the fourth MAC player selected in this year's Draft. Northern Illinois University defensive end/outside linebacker Larry English went 16th overall to the San Diego Chargers; Western Michigan University defensive back Louis Delmas went 33rd overall to the Detroit Lions; and Ohio University safety Michael Mitchell went 47th overall to the Oakland Raiders.
