U.S. Rep. Mike Pence will visit Ball State University on Friday, his office announced today.
Pence, who represents Muncie in Indiana's sixth Congressional district, will visit a global studies class, then take a tour of Ball State's heating and cooling plant, according to a press release.
Laurie Lindberg, who teaches the global studies class, said a liaison from Pence's office contacted her about the visit.
"[The liaison] said that [Pence] just wanted to take part in a class," Lindberg said.
Pence, who has served as a ranking member of the Middle East and Asia Subcommittee of the House of Foreign Affairs, will answer questions about foreign policies. Lindberg said her class recently finished a unit about Afghanistan, and the students will have prepared questions for the congressman.
Pence will tour the heating and cooling plant after the class. He will also visit Ball Memorial Hospital and host a small business forum at Muncie Power Products during his visit to the city.
