Comedy group to debut movie tonight

After months of work, Something Else TV will premiere its new comedy movie, "Odd Job," tonight at 8 p.m. in Pruis Hall.

When two friends are broke and without a job they only have one option, taking a job from a shady mobster, producer Bob Freeman said. Throughout the film viewers will see the hilarious reproductions of accepting this odd job and what the two friends have gone through to survive, he said.

Freeman said the group worked hard to make this production a quality comedic film.

"There is a lot of work and time invested in this movie to make it professional," Freeman said. "We hope to have a large crowd because we want to gain a following."

The movie is a 30-minute sketch that was shot during four weekends in February. The crew shot 20 scenes at six different locations.

During the making of the short film Freeman recorded the entire behind the scenes action on the Something Else TV Web site's blog.

"We want the whole campus to see 'Odd Job' and talk about it," Freeman said. "We have been doing this for a year and a half now and each film becomes more professional."

The movie will be presented along with comedy acts to get the crowd ready for a good time. "Odd Job" will also be posted to somethingelsetv.com for students who miss the premiere.

"We hope people laugh, but we also want them to think that it is more than a student-made movie," Freeman said.
