LSU to host sex-themed show

The Latino Student Association will have a dinner theatre that will feature "-S-E-X-OH!," a presentation about the taboos of sex. The show will be performed by Teatro Luna, an all-Latina Chicago-based theatre group.

"-S-E-X-OH!" will be attracting a younger crowd, LSU President Irais Ferraira said.

"The show attracts a young crowd because [Teatro Luna] is a group that has no restrictions to what they can say or do," Ferraira said. "They still keep it at a professional level."

"-S-E-X-OH!" encompasses the Latino side of sex, Ferraira said. There are scenes that are in "Spanglish" and some that deal with issues in the lesbian/gay commuinity.

"We feel that this is necessary because it's a show that talks about things that you can't talk about to your family," Ferraira said. "Things that you can't talk about in a traditional Latino family. [Things like] you have to be married for 'doing it,' and all these other traditional things."

The event's sponsors include Spectrum, The Multicultural Center, Disabled Students in Action, Black Student Association and the Lesbian, Bisexual and Gay Student Association. Teatro Luna has performed shows at Ball State for more than four years.

The dinner thatre will be held at 7 p.m. Friday in Cardinal Hall A,B, and C of the L.A. Pittenger Student Center. Admission is free and limited to first 150 people who arrive at the show.
