Miller College of Business is holding the fourth Erdogan Kumcu Memorial Lecture today.
The presentation is called "The Quest for Democracy: Germany in the 20th Century." Dr. Arnd Bauerkamper, a professor of history at the University of Berlin, will be the speaker.
Ray Montagno, associate dean of the business college, said Bauerkamper would speak about Germany's transformation from World Wars I and II through its reunification to where it is today.
A question and answer session will follow Bauerkamper's 45-minute presentation.
This lecture series was established in honor of Kumcu, a deceased faculty member of MCOB. Presentations in this series address globalization and international affairs. These topics were of interest to Kumcu.
This event is sponsored by the European studies program, the history department, the modern languages and classics department, the political science department and MCOB.
The lecture is at 3:30 p.m. in Whitinger Business Building Room 144.
