Twice this season the Ball State University men's volleyball team rallied from a two-game deficit to win a match.
Saturday night the reverse happened.
No. 7 Stanford University defeated Ball State 28-30, 25-30, 30-22, 31-29, 15-11 to end Ball State's four-match winning streak
Stanford's (7-3) outside attacker Evan Romero had a match-high 34 kills, including five kills in game five. Outside attacker Patrick Durbin led Ball State (5-6, 2-1 Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association) with 25 kills and 11 digs.
Durbin said the team was frustrated following the match for not securing the win.
"It's hard, we shouldn't have lost that match up by two games," he said.
