Compliance director to leave Ball State

Another member of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is leaving Ball State University.

Kyle Brennan, the director of athletics compliance and eligibility, is leaving Ball State for the University of Utah.

"Kyle's done some good things," Collins said. "I appreciate his service to the university."

At Utah, Brennan will serve as the director of athletics compliance.

A search has not begun for Brennan's replacement, Collins said.

The university also has not begun the search to replace former deputy athletics director Ken Brown, Collins said. Brown left Ball State to take the athletics director position at Lambuth University.

"We'll have an interim plan," Collins said. "We'll make sure paperwork flows."

There is no timetable for when replacements will be hired, Collins said. It has also not been determined if the replacements will be hired from within the athletics department or from outside, he said.

Ball State hired Brennan in October 2006 after he spent five months as the director of compliance at Texas Christian University.

Brown spent 17 years at Ball State and was promoted to deputy athletics director in 2006.

Brown and Brennan could not be reached for comment.
