After the Ball State University's women's basketball team won its sixth straight mid-season tournament last weekend, senior Julie DeMuth was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week on Monday.
DeMuth earned the award with her play in the La Quinta Inn & Suites Thanksgiving Tournament in Flagstaff, Ariz.
She averaged 21 points on 50 percent shooting in the two-day tournament. It marks her fourth straight mid-season tournament MVP since her sophomore season.
In game one against the University of Vermont, she had a tournament leading 26 points and pulled down 12 rebounds. In the next game against Northern Arizona University DeMuth had 16 points in 24 minutes.
She averages 16 points and 7.6 rebounds so far this season and is 80 percent from the free throw line.
It is DeMuth's first MAC award of the season and fourth of her career.
