Four Ball State women take multiple titles in the two-day meet

The Ball State University swimming and diving teams won more than half of the events en route to a win at the Dog Coers Invitational this weekend.

The Cardinals won 22 of the 40 events at the two-day meet, defeating Grand Valley State University and the University of Findlay.

The women's team finished with 905.5 points while Grand Valley State had 591.5 and Findlay had 213. Ball State won 18 of the 20 women's events.

The men's team had 849.5 points for the win while Grand Valley State had 621.5 and Findlay had 268. The Cardinals won four of the 20 men's events.

The Ball State women won all five of the women's relays at the meet. The Cardinals won the 200-yard freestyle relay, 400-yard freestyle relay, 800-yard freestyle relay, 200-yard medley relay and 400-yard medley relay.

Four of the Cardinals' women won multiple events at the meet.

Junior Erika Paul won the 100-yard backstroke and the 200-yard backstroke.

Sophomore Mary Ehresman won the 500-yard freestyle and 400-yard individual medley.

Freshman Katie Bylsma won the 100-yard freestyle and the 200-yard freestyle.

Freshman Maria Gramelspacher won the 100-yard butterfly and the 200-yard butterfly.

Senior Addison Del Rio won the 100-yard breaststroke and sophomore Emily Hurst won the 200-yard breaststroke. Junior Meghan Patterson won the 1650-yard freestyle.

Senior Stephanie Paul won the 3-meter diving and sophomore Lisa Maertin won the 1-meter diving.

The Ball State men won one of the relays at the meet, the 200-yard medley relay.

Senior Ryan Franklin won the 100-yard breaststroke and sophomore Jacob Morris won the 50-yard freestyle.

Junior David Linn won the 3-meter diving.
