The Ball State University soccer team received more awards to add to its Mid-American Conference regular season championship Thursday.
The MAC awarded eight Ball State players with honors for their play this season.
The Cardinals went 9-1-1 in the conference to win the regular season title.
Junior midfielder Annie Aiello earned a spot on the All-Mid-American Conference First Team.
"I was extremely surprised," Aiello said. "I did not think that would be awarded to me. It was awesome."
Ball State had five players make the second team All-MAC. The conference named senior Angie Heyer and juniors Katelyn Alexander, Rachael Murphy, Emily Rein and Jen Vilkoski to the second team.
Murphy led the MAC with a 0.56 goals against average, 0.855 save percentage and nine shutouts this season.
Kristina Anderson and Courtney Coombs both were named to the MAC All-Freshmen Team.
"It's a complete compliment to our program," coach Michelle Salmon said.
Salmon earned her second MAC Coach of the Year award in her second year as the Ball State coach.
"She deserves it 100 percent," Aiello said. " There's no doubt in my mind that she deserved that. She's done a lot for this program."
The Cardinals will continue their season in the semifinals of the MAC tournament against Bowling Green State University at 2 p.m. at the Ball State Soccer Field.
