MEN'S GOLF: Men's golf team adds local talent

Two high school seniors sign letter of intent for BSU

The Ball State University's men's golf team added two recruits from the class of 2008.

During the early signing period from Nov. 14 to Nov. 21, Zac Henderson from Northridge High School and Zac Treash from Plainfield High School signed a national letter of intent to attend Ball State.

Henderson, who recorded seven top 10 finishes in tournament play last summer, finished second at the Westfield Junior PGA Championship in June.

"He knows how to win," Ball State coach Mike Fleck said. "He has been very competitive over the last few summers and has won too. Henderson is a very powerful player and has a great mental approach to the game."

Treash is a two-time all-conference selection at Plainfield and a 2007 Indiana High School Athletic Association State Finalist.

"Treash is a player who has competed on the national level and competed with success," Fleck said. "He is a very consistent player and rarely puts up high numbers."

With all current players returning next season, Henderson and Treash will add depth to the team.

"Our goal is to try and attract some of the most talented players in the state of Indiana," Fleck said. "It is a good fit. These two athletes are really great golfers, students, and citizens."
