MITS will be adding a new route to the Late Loop.
Starting Oct. 25, the North Late Loop will be added to the loop that already takes students from campus to downtown Muncie, Jeff Phipps, owner of Bygone's Bar and Grill, said.
The new loop runs opposite of the original loop and will concentrate on McGalliard Road, Phipps said. The loop will overlap the old Late Loop at Riverside Avenue and Linden Street, he said.
It will cost $800 per week to operate. Phipps and a group of Muncie merchants will pay for the loop for a six-week trial period.
Phipps said the Ball State University Student Government Association also supported the effort to add a new route, but SGA did not pay for any of the costs.
The loop will pick patrons up every 20 minutes, he said. It will begin at 9:50 p.m. and run until 3:30 a.m. every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
