The former women's basketball head coach at Kokomo High School will come out of retirement to be the final assistant coach on Tracy Roller's coaching staff this season.
Thursday the Ball State University athletic department announced the hiring of Charlie Hall as an assistant coach on the women's basketball team.
"Charlie Hall has been a great mentor to me throughout my coaching career," Roller said in press release. ""He is a proven winner with incredible knowledge of the game of basketball."
Hall was 172-22 in his eight seasons at Kokomo and retired in 2006 after winning eight North Central Conference championships and the 2003 state championship.
During his time at Kokomo, 17 of Hall's players have gone on to play basketball at the college level, including current Ball State guard Audrey McDonald.
Hall graduated from Ball State in 1980 and has won the BSU Alumnus Coach of the Year award three times.
"He will be a great recruiting asset as he coached several Division I players, many of which played in the [Mid-American Conference]," Roller said.
