The Mid-American Conference announced Wednesday Ball State University finished 10th in the Reese standings and fifth in the Jacoby standings.
The Reese and Jacoby are annual trophies the MAC gives to one of 12 schools with the best overall athletic performance each school year. The Reese is for male sports and the Jacoby for female sports.
Points are determined on how schools finish in each sport's conference standings. The point total is divided by the amount of sports each school plays. The Cardinals have six men's teams and 11 women's teams that play in the MAC.
Ball State was 4.3 points back of first-place Central Michigan University in the Reese standings and 2.35 points behind first-place Ohio University in the Jacoby standings.
The women's soccer team was the only Ball State team to finish first place in 2006-07. The men's highest finish was second place in tennis.
Ball State has won the Jacoby five times, most recently being 2003. The Cardinals have won the Reese four times.
