MEN'S BASKETBALL: Coach hopes recruits bring points

The Ball State University men's basketball program received three letters of intent from sophomores Rob Giles of Mott Community College [Detroit, MI], Kevin Ford of the College of Southern Idaho [Twin Falls, ID] and Robert Martina of Deerfield High School [Pompano Beach, FL]. Cardinals' coach Ronny Thompson said he's excited with the players he has coming in next season.

"I think all three players will really fit well here," Thompson said. "Rob Giles has good size for a guard. He can also shoot the ball extremely well. Kevin Ford is what I call a willing runner. He can run the floor and score points in transition. Robert Martina is a good athlete who can run and jump. At 6-foot-8 he can also hit a 3-pointer and he has a good turn-around jump shot."
