Randy Hyman, associate dean for Student Affairs, has accepted the position of vice chancellor for Academic Support and Student Life at the University of Minnesota Duluth, according to the UMD Web site.
He will begin the position July 1, according to the Web site, and is replacing Bruce Gildseth who is leaving the position to work on special projects for the university.
At Ball State, Hyman is also the director of the Graduate Program in Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education. He has been with the university since 1989, and became dean of students in 2001. He applied for dean for the Division of Student Affairs, but the position went to current Dean of Students Kay Bales.
During the past two years, Hyman has also interviewed for positions at Central Missouri State, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, University of Toledo and Eastern Illinois University.
