Indiana University trustees were expected to name the university's top academic officer as its new president Thursday, according to media reports.
Sources close to the presidential search told The Indianapolis Star and WISH-TV that Michael McRobbie, IU's interim provost since January 2006, would be named President Adam Herbert's successor at a trustees meeting.
The Associated Press left a message at the office of trustee president Steve Ferguson seeking comment.
Herbert announced more than a year ago amid criticism from faculty members that he would not seek a contract renewal.
