Cigar and tobacco selection is going to be slimmer in Muncie once Little Havana Tobacco Cabana officially closes on Saturday.
After almost two months of clearance sales, Little Havana, the tobacco shop in the Ball State University Village, has cleared out most of its inventory and therefore is closing, student manager Mike Dean said.
"People come in and see we have hardly anything and just walk out," he said.
While students made small purchases at the store, the bulk of business came from Muncie community regulars. About a dozen customers came in every day to purchase about $40 in cigars. Once they became aware the shop was closing many of them stocked up. One customer spent $450 after the 50 percent-off discount, Dean said.
Dean is the only store employee since Little Havana is only open about five hours a day, and he said the closing will be a change of pace for him.
It is not known what business will move into the location once it is empty.
