A plethora of errors hampered the Ball State University softball team as it lost four of its five games in the Middle Tennessee State University Breast Cancer Strikeout Classic.
The lone victory of the weekend for the Cardinals (3-7) was a 8-6 win against Belmont University Friday.
"We had a really tough weekend," coach Craig Nicholson said. "We didn't play as well as I expected to play."
In the five games, the Cardinals committed 15 errors and now have 23 errors on the season.
"You make one, or you make two, and it snowballs from there," Nicholson said.
Ball State also continued its power surge as the team hit six home runs. Senior Kelli Jeziorski and sophomore Kamilah Holle led the Cardinals with two home runs each and senior Taylor Yancey and junior Abby Gross each added a home run.
Jeziorksi leads the Cardinals with four home runs this season. Gross' home run gave her three on the season and 10 for her career. She is now two home runs shy of tying Ruth Hjelmeland for the Ball State career record.
