Both Student Government Association slates received fines on Monday for some of their campaigning efforts.
SGA Elections Board fined Vote Bare $75 for placing huge banners on the McKinley Avenue Parking Structure. This violates the Elections Code sign-size limit and the rule against posting directly on a university building, Elections Board chairwoman Kiersta Barnes said.
U.N.I.T.E.D. Initiative was fined $20 for using Gradebook to send out a mass e-mail message encouraging students to vote for the slate. This is against Ball State University policies for use of this site, which the Elections Code supports, Barnes said.
