Ball State University's men's swimming and diving team struggled at the Mid-American Conference championships, finishing fifth.
Not a single swimmer or diver won an event, with Kyle Hembree being the only Cardinal to finish in the top four in any event. Hembree was also the only member of the team to make the All-MAC squads, earning a position on the second team.
Eastern Michigan University won the event, closing with a score of 1008.5. Miami University placed second with 801.5, Ohio University was third with 584.5, while the University at Buffalo finished fourth at 378. Ball State finished with a score of 349.5.
