MEN'S BASKETBALL: BSU looks to break streak against Buffalo

Buffalo's center nets 8.9 rebounds, 15.6 points per game

Ball State University's men's basketball team is on the edge of ensuring that the school will have its fourth losing regular season in five years. Should the Cardinals drop one more game, they will have no hope of passing the .500-mark.

Ball State (7-15, 3-6 in the Mid-American Conference) will look to end a two-game losing streak as they play the University at Buffalo (10-12, 2-7 MAC) at 7 p.m. today in Worthen Arena.

Buffalo has won four of the last five matchups against the Cardinals, including an 80-72 victory over the Cardinals in the first round of the MAC tournament last season.

The Bulls are led by senior center Yassin Idbihi, who averages 15.6 points and 8.9 rebounds per game. At 6 feet 10 inches tall, he will be one of the few centers that Ball State junior Micah Rollin will face that is similar in height to him in the MAC season.

The home matchup will be one of the last for the Cardinals. Of the eight remaining matchups, only three of them are at home. The other two include a Feb. 22 matchup against Central Michigan University and the regular-season- ending contest with Western Michigan University.

Ball State's 3-6 MAC record ties them with Central Michigan and Eastern Michigan University. They hold the seventh, eighth and ninth places in the MAC.

Buffalo is one of three teams with a worse record than the Cardinals in the MAC.
