Creating a resum+â-¬ to show to potential employers can be an overwhelming task, Ball State University junior Nora Hall said.
"There is a pressure that people, like counselors or professors, seem to give off that a resum+â-¬ has to be perfect," she said.
Because of the stress of organizing such an important document, Hall said she would probably attend Resumania, a Career Center event that helps students craft their resum+â-¬s.
Resumania will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday in the main lobby of the library.
When arriving at the event, students must check in at one of the tables. If a person is not available to critique a resum+â-¬ right away, students are put on a waiting list. No appointments are necessary.
"In the past, people have not had to wait very long," said Joseph Goodwin, assistant director of the Career Center.
In addition to resum+â-¬ critiquing, the Career Center will also be providing information on how to create a resum+â-¬. Cover letters can also be reviewed by the staff.
"It's a way of marketing yourself to an employer, documenting for an employer what you have to offer," Goodwin said.
Freshmen can also get an early start on their resum+â-¬s, so they simply have to update them later on, Goodwin said. That might make looking for a job less stressful, he said.
The Career Center will also be handing out free T-shirts to those who get their resum+â-¬s critiqued.

Resum+â-¬ stylesCHRONOLOGICAL resum+â-¬The chronological style is used to show career growth. The most recent job is presented first, then the second most recent and so on. Along with the job, duties and educational experience is also listed.
FUNCTIONAL resum+â-¬Reserved for those wanting to focus on skill, the functional style highlights one's past responsibilities and accomplishments. The functional style works well for recent graduates and liberal arts majors.
COMBINATION resum+â-¬As the name suggests, the combination style unites both the chronological and functional styles. The most effective way to use the combination style is to show continuity with skills and job history.
