MITS:MITS bus service will stop running at 6:45 p.m.
PARKING SERVICES:Tickets will still be given for cars not being parked in the correct places.
Sandy Pyle, police corporal for the Ball State University parking services, said the only time they are not ticketing is when the university is closed. She said classes might be canceled, but the offices are still open so the university is not closed.
"If we let them park wherever they want, then the one's who have paid extra in restrictive lots will be full with people who don't have permits for that lot," Pyle said. "Just because it's snowing, you still need to park where you're supposed to."
BRACKEN LIBRARY:Arthur Hafner, dean of university libraries, said he was going to close early because he had five people working as the night staff and four could not come in. He said he was working to get people from different shifts to come in so the library would not have to close.
"We are trying to make sure the library can stay open so students have a place to go and things to do on campus," he said.
Hafner said he would know about library hours tomorrow depending on President Gora's decision [about closing.
"If the decision is to open we'll do everything we can to be open at 7 a.m. because we know students want to come and use our facilities," he said
DiningBall State Dining Director Jon Lewis said the weather hasn't affected Dining's business too much.
"Everything is going as planned," he said. "Every unit is open that needs to be open."
Lewis said, though, that the Bookmark Cafe will close at 2 p.m. today.
Other than a few people, Dining employees have been able to make it to work, he said.
Food has not been a problem for Dining, either, Lewis said. "Everything isn't normal," he said. "But we have enough food to last."
Central MailBall State Central Mail has been working hard all day, despite the weather conditions.
Mailing Services Supervisor Nick Notarangelo said he has been trying to take mail around campus, but has had no luck because the two-wheeled carts that Central Mail staff members use do not work well in the snow. The Central Mail staff has kept trying, though, Notarangelo said.
"We've been at it all day long," he said.
Notarangelo said he did not have any luck getting into the Art and Journalism Building.
He said Central Mail staff will still be taking the mail to the U.S. Post Office today.
Campus ShuttlesBecause classes are canceled, the shuttle buses will not be running today.
Sue Weller, director of facilities, business services and transportation, said if classes remain closed tomorrow, the shuttles will not run.
