The final home meet of the season for the men's and women's swimming and diving teams is Saturday. The Cardinals play host to Mid-American Conference foe Ohio University at 1 p.m. The meet will also serve as the team's senior day.
The Ball State University women's team is coming off a disappointing loss last weekend against the University of Toledo. The bright spot of the meet was that overall, 12 of the 19 swimmers posted season-best times. Seeing the times improving this late in the season gave co-coach Bob Thomas optimism for the upcoming MAC Championships.
"We're still getting ready for conference, but we are on track," Thomas said after Saturday's loss.
The Cardinals struggled last weekend by not winning relay or diving events.
The men's team hasn't participated in a meet since its Jan. 13 loss to Eastern Michigan University. One bright spot for the men's team was senior Zach Whitaker during the contest. Whitaker won both the 1- and 3-meter diving board competitions by getting more than 580 combined points for the two events.
