SGA begins 2007 with projects underway

Junior Matt Lacy was unanimously approved for the position of Parliamentarian after junior Jaime Manuel's term as a senator ended.

SGA is pleased with the success of the Blue Loop shuttle, which runs through the area east of campus. About 150 students per day rode the shuttle this week, and the number of riders has doubled since the start of last week.

Academic Affairs committee is beginning implementation of legislation passed Fall Semester that proposed placing textbook ISBN's online for students.

Diversity and Multicultural Affairs committee is planning a Multicultural Late Nite for the Spring Semester.

In Student Senate, two campus seats, one undergraduate and one graduate, are open and can be applied for.

Students interested in the student Board of Trustees position can pick up applications in the SGA or Student Life offices. The term lasts two years.

Muncie businesses are giving discounts to Ball State students with their university ID's. A list of the discounts is available at www.studentsavingsclub.com.

Election packets for executive slates are available in the SGA office. Slates will be announced Feb. 13 at the Nomination Convention.
