The Ball State Daily News has received two finalist nods in the U.S.News & World Report "Best College Newspapers of 2006" competition.
DN|Podcast is a finalist in the "Best Alternative Media Outlet" category, which includes nominees from Harvard and Columbia University. The podcast is a daily audio update that delivers a fast-paced, radio-style newscast via iTunes and MP3 on bsudailynews.com.
Editor in Chief David Studinski is also nominated in the "Best College Paper Columnist" category, for his column, "Bewildered Society." Other finalists in the category include students from Harvard and New York University.
The contest is a first for "Paper Trail," an online blog about college news and the media that covers it.
