Car accident sends three BSU students to hospital

UPDATE - 1 p.m.: Cassie Marquis remains in unknown condition in the Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, emergency room. Lindsay D. Scott remains in unknown condition in Ball Memorial's emergency room. Kelley Wise has been released from Ball Memorial and is in stable condition.

A semi-tractor trailor rear-ended a car with three Ball State

University students this morning, sending all of them to the hospital,

according to state police.

Cassie Marquis was taken by Lifeline with multiple injuries to

Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. according to police. As of 11

a.m., she was in the emergency room in unknown condition, hospital

officials said. Kelley Wise and Lindsay D. Scott were taken to Ball

Memorial Hospital, according to police. At 11 a.m., Scott was also in

the emergency room in unknown condition, and Wise was out of the

emergency room, but in the hospital in stable condition, hospital

officials said.

The accident occurred on S.R. 28 at 1-69 in Delaware County at 7:15

a.m., police said. Scott was in the westbound lanes, stopped in

traffic to turn south. Her 2000 Pontiac was rear-ended by a semi also

headed westbound, police said.

The semi driver was not injured, and no alcohol was involved in the

accident, police said.
