Dear Editor,
After 40 hours of basic training, the Ball State University Board of Trustees' policy gave a 24-year-old person the right to use deadly force against a student he was supposed to protect. The officer could use his gun after a few hours of training, but was not able to use pepper spray because he was "not certified." How about his nightstick?
I would suggest that we "certify" the BSU police force to use pepper spray as soon as possible. And by the way, a burglar does not pound on a door and make alot of noise if he wants to rob a house.
