Five players on the Ball State field hockey team earned All-MAC accolades earlier this week. Seniors Afton Hess and Becky Weaver were named to the All-MAC First Team, while seniors Kirsty Houghton and Beth Tatman, plus junior Chantelle Isaac were placed on the second team. Only regular-season league champion Kent State and tournament winner Louisville had as many selections.
The upperclassmen were not the only Cardinals on the team to receive conference awards. Freshman Lindsay Quay was named MAC Freshman of the Year earlier this week. She becomes only the fourth Ball State player in the program's history to receive the award. Quay led all MAC freshmen in scoring with six goals and three assists for a 0.75 scoring average.
