Ball State softball players of past and present will gatherFriday for the annual alumni game.
As most alumni be recent graduates, eighth year head coach TerriLaux will see several of her former players go up against thecurrent players.
"I love seeing the kids come back that I have coached. They'resuch a great group of kids, the more I get to see them the betteroff," Laux said.
The program took a hiatus because of a lack of involvement, butwas reinstated last year.
"Sometimes it's tough to get everybody back. We just try to keepthem involved in what we're doing," Laux said.
Despite it being a fun atmosphere among Cardinals past andpresent, both teams will be fighting for the victory.
"Our team doesn't want to lose, so it's competitive, but there'sa huge element of fun, especially for the alumni. Nobody reallywants to lose," Laux said.
Looking back on former teams during this alumni weekend, Lauxbelieves this year's team is unique to any she has coached.
"We haven't had this young of a team in quite a while, so thatalways provides a different perspective on how you go aboutcoaching them," Laux said.
The alumni game will begin 4 p.m. Friday at the BSU SoftballComplex.
