The 2002-03 Ball State softball team has been honored by theNational Fastpitch Coaches Association as an All-Academic Team forthe fifth-straight year.
The Ball State softball program has been selected seven times inthe past eight years.
Under head coach Terri Laux, the team compiled a 3.341 combinedgrade point average to place 10th among the more than 300 NCAADivision I institutions that carry softball. The 10th place finishis second only to the 1996 Ball State team's sixth-placefinish.
Six members of the 2002-03 team — Kris Burdine, JaniceCampbell, Britni Clark, Alyssa Huffman, Crystal Newton and KatieShea — were named NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes. The sixBSU selections are the second highest in school history.
