Yaakov Eden has been honored with the Dance Educator of the Year Award for outstanding work as a dance education teacher. This award has been presented on behalf of the Indiana Association of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance, the largest association in the state. This organization is dedicated to promoting and supporting healthy lifestyles through physical activity. Eden has been teaching at Ball State for 32 years and coordinates the dance education program, teaching folk, social and country western dance classes. Eden has participated in local, state and national dance organizations and has served as the IAHPERD Program Director for Dance, chairman of the Dance Program Council, as well as leading numerous dance workshops at state conferences. The Indiana Dance Educator of the Year Award is given in recognition of outstanding teaching performance and the ability to motivate today's youth to participate in lifetime physical activities. The award exemplifies the highest standards of the profession.
